Murray State University’s men’s basketball coach Billy Kennedy told community members Tuesday morning that his team would have to forget about last year’s NCAA tournament if they want to have another great season.
Kennedy was the Chamber of Commerce’s keynote speaker at Tuesday’s Business@Breakfast event. He said putting last season’s success of defeating Vanderbilt University in the first round of the NCAA tournament behind them was key to moving forward with a new team after losing several talented seniors and bringing in new players. He told a short joke in which he said his 6-year-old daughter had saved up her allowance to buy a diary. When he asked her what was in it, she said it was her life story. When she offered to show it to him, he turned to a page in which there was a drawing of her shedding tears. He said he asked what the drawing was supposed to be.
