Murray State University Board of Regents Chairman Dr. Constantine Curris told a joint session of the Faculty Senate and Staff Congress Tuesday that the board never discussed with each other ahead of time how they planned to vote on MSU President Dr. Randy Dunn’s contract.
The former MSU president had accepted an invitation from Faculty Senate President Dr. Kevin Binfield to speak to senators about the board’s recent decision to not renew Dunn’s contract, and members of the Staff Congress also participated in the question-and-answer session. Because of the large crowd, the meeting was moved from the Curris Center’s Barkley Room to the Curris Center Theater. Although a few of the questions asked of him had an edgy tone, several present thanked Curris for attending the meeting and making himself available. The gathered crowd even applauded at the end of the meeting.
