Northern Illinois University’s presidential search advisory committee has narrowed its field to four candidates. One name not on the list, despite his Illinois roots, is Murray State University President Dr. Randy Dunn.
“Given that my future as president at MSU still remains to be determined by our Board, pending the work of their ad hoc contract review committee getting completed, I had looked at the pros and cons of the NIU position,” Dunn said Wednesday in an email. “In the end, it was clear to me that they have so many problems up there right now — including alleged corruption on campus — we decided it wasn’t a position to consider further. And as I have stated on several occasions, should our Board of Regents elect to extend my contract, I’m ready to sign and continue my work at the university.
