Class Offered For Parents That Want A Little Help

The Calloway County Cooperative Extension Office will finish its first parenting class next week while gearing up for the start of the next one on April 25.

LaDawn Hale, family and consumer sciences agent with the local University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service, said it had been a long time since any type of parenting class had been available in Calloway County. Hale said she heard at plenty of meetings that there was a need, both for parents whose participation was mandatory and for those who simply had an interest in broadening their skills. Sometimes people are court-ordered to take a parenting class, but Calloway County residents had to go elsewhere for them, she said.
