On the eve of their regular quarterly meeting, the Murray State University Board of Regents Finance Committee met in special session Thursday  to review more than 80 recommendations for amending the annual budget.

No action was taken on any particular point, as the board used the time to work through the suggestions and discuss each issue before decisions are made in the future. Over a near nine-month period, a committee of more than 150 faculty, staff and students commissioned a list of feasible cuts in preparation for the loss of state funding. Although none of the cuts are finalized, several constituents have responded to the proposals.
