Myron B. Culp

Funeral services for Myron B. Culp, 90, of Murray, will be held today, Friday, May 27, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Imes-Miller Funeral Home with Ricky Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brett Nance, Jimmy Pierce and the grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Housden, Keith Williams, Charles Outland, Isaac Allbritten and Hal Allbritten.

Culp died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

He was a World War II Army veteran and was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Charlie F. and Lela Dunn Culp, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Milton, J.B. and O.B. Culp; and a sister, Wilmena Goheen.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Erlene Love Culp; a son, Glen Culp; special friend, Becky Nance of Murray; a daughter, Betty Atkins and husband, Bobby of Murray; four grandchildren, Kim Culp, Chad Culp, Tony Atkins and Greg Atkins; and one great-grandchild.

Ann P. Smith

Funeral services for Ann P. Smith, 68, of Benton, will be held today, Friday, May 27, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton with the Rev. Tim Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Ridge Cemetery in Aurora.

Smith died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at 3:11 p.m. at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

She was the daughter of the late Willis Hughes and the late Gurthie Hughes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brandy Roberts; and three brothers, William Greer, Wayne Greer and Lacy Hughes.

She is survived by one daughter, Teresa Henson and husband, Bill of Murray; two grandsons, Christopher Henson and Craig Henson, both of Murray; and one brother, Rodger Greer of Paris, Tenn.

Phil L. Collie

Graveside services for Phil L. Collie, 70, of Murray, will be held today, Friday, May 27, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Scott’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Boyd Smith officiating.

Collie died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at 4:47 a.m. at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

Born Dec. 12, 1940 in Murray, he was a retired truck driver and a member of the First Baptist Church of Murray.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Jimmie Lowery Collie.

He is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Lockhart of Cartersville, Ga., and Robin Lingerfeldt of Taylorsville, Ga.; one sister, Linda R. Ford and husband, Jerry of Murray; one brother, Charles Collie and wife, Brenda of Morganfield; and five grandchildren.

Luke Anderson

Funeral services for Luke Anderson, 21, of Murray, will be held today, Friday, May 27, 2011, at 3:30 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rick Beam officiating. Burial will be in the Murray City Cemetery.

Visitation will be today, Friday, from 7 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

Anderson died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born Jan. 18, 1990 in Kankakee, Ill., he was a 2009 graduate of Calloway County High School and was attending Murray State University. He was a carpenter with Donnie Robinson Construction and was a member of the United Church of God in Paducah.

He is survived by his mother, Teresa Anderson of Murray; father, David Anderson, Sr. of Kankakee, Ill.; three sisters, Angela Mitchell and husband, Rico of Sharon, Tenn., Davina Anderson of Kankakee, Ill., and Teela Odom of Murray; brother, David Anderson, Jr. and wife, Deisy of Kankakee, Ill.; and two nephews.
